The Winds of Change Are Blowing
M. Lynn Reddick - Covenant Bible
Institute (CBI) was begun five years ago to prepare students academically to be
ministers in the marketplace. Over 100
students have taken advantage of our
courses in Portal and through our distance
learning program. Many lives have been
impacted, changed, and challenged to be
more effective ministers.
However, events have moved us to a
decision whether or not to go for Regional
Accreditation (SACS and TRACS) which
is necessary in today’s college venue. Huge
amounts of money and a large faculty with
Regionally Accredited degrees are essential
for CBI to develop as an accredited Bible
College. Neither has materialized as the
winds of change are blowing in Portal.
Let me take you back a bit. Nearly ten
years ago, Open Church Ministries (OCM)
was moved from Colorado Springs to
Portal. We held monthly teaching and
equipping sessions attended by people
from across the United States. We are in
the process of recapturing the effectiveness
of these early meetings under our new
thrust in Portal called Bear Creek Ranch.
Read about the new program of OCM in
this first issue of The Bear Creek Dispatch
or get a fuller view at our website: www.BearCreekPortal.com.
Bear Creek focuses on people to (Our
Mission Statement):
• Engage their brokenness
• Quiet their fears
• Unearth their longings
• Instruct them to ...
• Pursue the mission of Jesus
stated in Luke 4:18.
We invite you to participate in our new
OCM thrust in Portal as together we watch
Father build His Kingdom.
